We live sustainability and responsibility – not just within the company, but far beyond it.
Sustainability – deeds instead of words
The idea of sustainability and responsibility is an important principle of our vision. Every day we do our best to meet these high ideals in both the development of our products and the management of our business. But that's not all: alveus® brings these ideas to life beyond the boardroom by maintaining ongoing involvement in social projects based around the issue of healthy eating.
In addition to the strict observance of the code of conduct prescribed by the German Tea Association, we favour tea gardens that deliberately use organic farming techniques. Even for our standard range of teas, we are now increasingly opting for ingredients and flavours that have been certified organic.
Sustainable working conditions
alveus® promotes sustainably positive working conditions throughout its entire production and supply chain. More than 15 trainees independently and responsibly participate in shaping the future of our Hamburg-based tea company. Since the founding of our company, almost all our trainees have been taken on by alveus® after their training.
100,000 bees are buzzing about alveus®
In efforts to fight against the declines in bee populations alveus® has taken on the sponsorship of two bee colonies in Italy. The tea company is also promoting the initiative among business partners and customers in a number of major cities in Europe. It is Daniel Trenk’s view that this project fits in perfectly with the philosophy of alveus®: “Just like beekeepers - we live on handicraft and a love of nature.”

Icebear & Tiger
It is especially important that children develop healthy drinking habits and have an adequate fluid intake. Leading associations of German nutrition experts, such as the German Nutrition Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung), the Research Institute for Child Nutrition (Forschungsinstitut für Kinderernährung) and the aid Infodienst e. V. recommend unsweetened herbal and fruit teas as great thirst quenchers. This is why alveus® wants to help children get to know tea as a natural product in a fun way, and to encourage them to develop healthy drinking habits.

For the 9th year running, first-class primary school students from Hamburg receive an organic breadbox on their first day at school. We rolled up our sleeves and got stuck in, helping to fill more than 15,000 yellow bread boxes with delicious bread, carrots, spread, grapes, cereals and natural organic tea. alveus® proudly supports this initiative, which is implemented by 40 organic producers in Hamburg.
